Within the ICU

Our managers and educators are available to discuss any concerns, and to assist you with the development of strategies to cope with the challenging ICU environment.  Staff who are new to the unit are also supported by their preceptor.

Our ICU Safety, Culture and Wellbeing group also coordinates, or assists with,  a number of activities throughout the year including:

  • An annual ‘Wellbeing Week’ filled with fun, social, team building activities
  • ‘Staff Member of the Month’ program where staff nominate their peers for outstanding patient care, hard work, and in the demonstration of exemplary values.
  • A ‘Mums and Bubs’ morning tea
  • An ‘End of Course’ trip to the pub for our critical care course students
  • Christmas in July
  • A Christmas party at the end of the year
  • Regular ward meeting with managers
