Making a significant difference to patients experience by bringing about “near connections” of currently available technologies

Following the recent “Top 100 leadership” conference, Andrew Way (CEO) invited expressions of interest  to support the progression of the work undertaken in groups during Craig Boshier’s session.
The EoI had to demonstrate how up to a maximum of $100,000 will make a significant difference to patients experience by bringing about “near connections” of currently available technologies. The successful EoI was likely to be:
·         Very focused
·         Easily applicable
·         Make a measurable difference to patients experience of one part of our services
·         Be replicable
·         Have a realistic financial proposition (business case)
·         Be implemented by 30 June 2016
A review group consisting of Chris McLoughlin, Janet Weir-Phyland and Andrew Way, taking advice as necessary, reviewed submissions and shortlisted 4 finalists from 8 excellent proposals.

The ICU was one of those shortlisted.

Our proposal was the creation of automatic alerts to identify patients at risk of deterioration after discharge from ICU.

The 4 finalists will present to the top 100 leadership on Wednesday 16 December.  The finalist will be then announced by Andrew Way at the conclusion of this session.
