The Alfred ICU Adult ECMO course in collaboration with VECMOS is now recognised as an ELSO Endorsed Comprehensive Simulation Based Course.
The Alfred ICU Adult ECMO Course, developed in partnership with VECMOS was recently reviewed and evaluated by the ELSO education team. The Extracorporeal Life Support Organisation (ELSO) is an international consortium providing leadership and support through education, guidelines, research and registries.
Following a meticulous & successful assessment in May, The Alfred ICU Adult ECMO course in collaboration with VECMOS is now recognised as an ELSO Endorsed Comprehensive Simulation Based Course.
The endorsement highlights the exceptional quality of education delivered by the team. The course meets all ELSO ECMO curriculum requirements and maintains an immersive simulation experience with structured debriefing. Endorsement encourages clinicians Australia wide and internationally to complete their ECMO training through our course at The Alfred Intensive Care Academic Centre.
This achievement marks a significant milestone for our team, as we proudly join the ranks of only 16 other hospitals worldwide, recognized as ELSO endorsed ECMO courses.
