International Educational Opportunities
The Alfred Intensive Care Academic Centre now offers bespoke educational courses tailored to specific healthcare systems. This involves partnering with an organisation and deploying course faculty and resources to the chosen location.
The advantage of this approach is that it allows for the training of a large number of healthcare workers in their own environment, leveraging existing teams and infrastructure.
We will work closely with the partner organisation to ensure that the course objectives and content align with the needs of the local healthcare environment.

Critical Care Reviews Meeting - CCR Down Under 2024: A Resounding Success
The Critical Care Reviews (CCR) Meeting 2024 marked an exciting milestone as it was held outside Belfast for the very first time, in partnership with the Alfred Intensive Care Academic Centre. The event, which took place on December 10th and 11th, was hosted across several iconic venues, including Federation Square, the MCG, and various locations on the Mornington Peninsula for the faculty day out.
The event attracted a remarkable global audience, with a mix of in-person and virtual attendees. Over 400 delegates joined us in person, while more than 70 participated virtually to earn CPD points. Our live stream reached over 4,500 viewers from 86 different countries, making it a truly international gathering.
Publications
During CCR Down Under we had one simultaneous trial report in NEJM, four in JAMA, plus three editorials in JAMA and a JAMA podcast discussing the trials presented at the meeting: We are currently awaiting publications for an additional three trials. To learn more about the trials visit CCR Belfast
The 2024 CCR Down Under was a testament to the growing global impact of the Critical Care Reviews community, and we look forward to continuing this journey of knowledge-sharing and collaboration with the Belfast Team.
